State track champions receive rings

Laurel High School recently held a ring ceremony for two students who placed first in the Mississippi High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships held at Pearl High School in May. Laurel High School Athletic Director Todd Breland presented Javin Arrington and Zaria Husband their championship rings during a special ceremony held in the Jimmy Bass Memorabilia Room at R.H. Watkins Stadium. Zaria Husband placed first in the state in the 5A Championship in the 100 Meter Hurdles and Javin Arrington placed first in the 200 Meter Dash.
