Laurel High School’s Art II students recently participated in a Black History Month art contest. The students used a variety of artistic techniques to create drawings of notable trailblazers. The Laurel boys’ basketball team claimed a 78-51 victory over Long Beach on Saturday night advancing to the quarterfinal round of the 5A playoff games. Laurel will play in the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 4 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson at 7 pm.

The Jones County Farm Bureau/Supertalk MS Student Spotlight for the month of February was Alexandria Seals. Alexandria is a sophomore at Laurel High School where she scored in the top twenty percent at the Mississippi Math and Science competition at Mississippi College.
